Le Rose de Marquis from Château Marquis de Terme
Fréjus, Provence
Château Marquis de Terme, Grand Cru classé (4th Growth de Margaux), is owned by the Sénéclauze family who also owns the Domaine de Lauzade in Côtes de Provence and the Domaine Val d’Arenc in Bandol. The team at Château Marquis de Terme has selected grapes from the most beautiful plots of land in the Côtes de Provence to create a certified organic Côtes de Provence rosé that bears the Marquis’ signature.
Located a few steps from Fréjus, in the heart of the Esterel massif, the vineyard is adjacent to a pine forest. The terroir is defined by the imprint of volcanic rocks and the influence of the Mediterranean basin - composed of Permian volcanic rocks, Rhyolites and Dolerites, as well as their decomposition into sandstone and clay. These poor grounds are at the origin of concentrated, complex and strong personality wines.
