CHATEAU L'AFRIQUE
Cuers, Cotes de Provence
Famille Sumeire is located in the commune of Cuers, in the heart of the Cotes de Provence. The estate has been producing wine since the Roman times. The originality of the name comes from the 19th century and the oriental trend influenced by the painter Géricault. A long alley of cypress trees crosses the vineyard to reach the huge yellow-ochre Provençal house. Olivier Sumeire is the 8th generation winemaker. The statue adorning the label, dated 1840 and placed at the end of the estate alley, is the work of sculptor Antoine Aprile, native from Cuers.
