CHATEAU LA TESSONNIERE
Médoc, Bordeux
In 1905 the Chevreux family from Saint-Aubin-de-Blaye purchased
vineyards in the small towns of Bégadan and Civrac. The next four
generations have been carefully adding to this holding. All the
parcels are located on calcareous clay, which thrives with sunny
conditions and in turn helps the proper maturation of the grape.
The choice of the blends was also judicious and has allowed to
embrace the stylistic tradition of Medoc: generous structure and
supple texture with great aging potential.
In 1995 Chateau la Tessonnière was awarded the "Cru Artisan"
designation for its rigor in honoring the style of Medoc wines and
the consistency in quality. There are only 44 estates that hold this
classification in Médoc and Haut-Médoc.
2016 Medoc
Médoc is an AOC for wine in the Bordeaux wine region of southwestern France, on the Left Bank of the Gironde estuary that covers the northern section of the viticultural strip along the Médoc peninsula.
